Detective Police Sergeant Issa Kamara has tendered before Magistrate Sahr Keikura the knife that was allegedly used by the accused Mohamed Jagitay to kill his brother Ibrahim Jagitay after the matter was called up in court on Tuesday 27th February 2024.
The accused, Mohamed Jagitay is facing a one count charge of murder contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
According to the particulars of the offence, it was alleged that the accused on Friday 28th July 2023, at Kellie Farm, Malambay Village, Waterloo murdered one Ibrahim Jagitay.
The tenth Prosecution witness, Detective Sergeant Issa Kamara attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters as an Exhibits Clerk was led in evidence by Inspector Sellu TAP.
The witness recalled on September 18th, 2023 when Detective Inspector D.A. Marque, attached to the Homicide Unit CID Headquarters handed over to him one kitchen knife with a black handle, one old empty ear-pod case in respect of this matter which he recorded as exhibits. The said exhibits were produced and tendered as evidence to form part of the prosecution’s case.
There was no cross-examination by the Defense Lawyers. At the end of the witness’s statement, the Prosecutor Inspector Sellu TAP closed their case. Lawyer M. Rashid the Defense Counsel for the accused intimated to the court that he will make his No Case Submission on the next adjourned date. Magistrate Kekura however adjoined the matter to 8th March 2024 and remanded the accused in custody.
