Abubakarr Adams Sillah an accountant employed by DirectAid Sierra Leone Ltd on Thursday 14th December 2023 remanded at the male correctional center by Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Magistrate Court No. 1 for allegedly stealing over one billion leones from the company account at Vista Bank.

The accused Abubakarr Adams Sillah made his first appearance and was arraigned on 63 counts charges of Larceny by servant contrary to section 17 (1(a) of the Larceny Act 191.

According to the charge sheet, it was alleged that the accused on diverse dates between January 2022 to October 2022, at Vista Bank Light Foot Boston Street Freetown being an accountant employed by DirectAid Sierra Leone Limited stole the total sum of over one Billion Leones from Direct Aid account number 066011383690202 held at Vista Bank Sierra Leone Limited for Aid services property of Direct Aid Sierra Leone Limited.

The charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.

Magistrate Marke Ngegba refused the accused bail and remanded him in prison and the matter was adjourned to the 21st of December 2023 for further hearing.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Ibrahim S Mansaray is prosecuting the matter.
