The District Chairman for the Tonkolili district council, Yabom Sesay has committed to total development and work for the best interest of her people in the district.
She maintained that, for the past five years she has been disappointed many times by development partners which she go in search of development for her people but assured that she may not relent in the second term to keep knocking on doors until the development she needs for her people comes through.
“I will persistently knock on every available door, as long as it benefits my beloved district and its people,” she declared. “Though I’ve faced numerous disappointments over the past five years, I take pride in the accomplishments we’ve achieved for the Tonkolili district during my tenure as District Chairman.”
Yabom also emphasized the importance of generating revenue from within the district itself. She recognized the willingness of her constituents to contribute through taxation, a vital source of homegrown revenue that would fuel various development initiatives. Yabom expressed her readiness to initiate this process, which would supplement her ongoing efforts to secure external assistance.
“Our local revenue mobilization is on the brink of taking off because our people are now eager to contribute, especially since we’ve reaffirmed our commitment to our roles,” she affirmed.
Yabom Sesay’s determination to knock on doors and harness local resources for the benefit of Tonkolili district and its people shone as a testament to her unwavering dedication to their well-being and progress.
