The Port Loko Campus of Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST) on Monday, 19th January 2026, officially matriculated its newly admitted students in a ceremony marked by inspiration, reflection, and renewed commitment to academic excellence.
Delivering His address, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Maurice Biamba Kargbo, spoke on the theme “Reaffirming Integrity, Partnership, and Innovation for a Future of Transformational Excellence.” He urged students to see their admission not only as a personal achievement, but as a responsibility to uphold the core values of EBKUST.
Dr. Kargbo, described the campus as the “home of resilience, possibilities, and champions in progress” emphasized on integrity, collaboration among peers and staff, and innovation as key drivers for national development and personal growth.
Earlier, Madam Haja Rugiatu Koroma, the Deputy Registrar, warmly welcomed the students to the Port Loko Campus. She encouraged the new intakes to embrace discipline, hard work, and respect for institutional rules as they begin their academic journey.
The ceremony also featured a vote of thanks delivered by Patricia Koyateh, who spoke on behalf of the newly matriculated students. She expressed profound appreciation to the university management, parents, and guardians for their support, while pledging that students would obey the rules and regulations of the university, study diligently, and represent EBKUST with pride and dignity both on and off campus.
The well-attended event brought together Deans, Heads of Departments, lecturers, administrative staff, local authorities, parents, guardians, and supporters, creating a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
The matriculation ceremony officially marks the students’ admission into the EBKUST academic community, setting the tone for a future anchored in excellence, innovation, and service to society.
