The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has issued a public notice informing the general public about scheduled power outages in several communities due to ongoing maintenance work on the 33Kv power line stretching from Kingtom to Wilberforce.
The power outages will take place from October 2nd to October 8th, 2024, between 9 am and 5 pm daily.
According to EDSA, the contractor responsible for the construction of the line has identified suspected defects along the Kingtom to Wilberforce route, as well as at the Blackhall Road Substation.
To address these issues, the contractor has scheduled rectification work during the specified period. As part of the safety protocol, the 33Kv power line will be decommissioned to safeguard personnel and equipment while repairs are underway.

Lumley
Goderich
Malama
Wellington
portee
Jui
Hastings
Waterloo
EDSA is collaborating closely with the project team to ensure the repairs and maintenance are completed within the estimated timeline.
The Authority has expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused by the power interruptions and has thanked the affected customers for their patience and understanding.
The public is urged to take necessary precautions and plan accordingly during this period to minimize disruptions to their daily activities.
