Prominent Lawyer Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai has dished out scholarships to pupils at the Government Model Secondary School in Freetown at the school’s Price Giving Ceremony.
Delivering his speech, Lawyer Abdulai explained his obligation to support education and empower young students. Echoing his academic voyage, he underscored the significance of students in need, highlighting that he had faced challenges without any external support during his time in school.
The scholarship allotted will cover a wide range of pupils containing awards for the best male and female pupils in Junior Secondary School (JSS) levels 1 to 3, as well as Senior Secondary School (SSS) levels 1 to 3.
More so, as a sports lover, he granted scholarships to the top male and female footballers, volleyball players, and spinach in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m races.
In addition, the scholarship will cover financial support including essential educational resources such as textbooks, school materials, payment of school fees where necessary, coverage of public examination fees, and provision of uniforms to deserving recipients.
Continuing his address, Lawyer Abdulai offered words of wisdom and motivation to the pupils. He urged them to stay off harmful influences like drugs, excessive use of social media, and engaging in transactions involving money for favors, especially warning the female students against surrendering to such tensions. He underlined the significance of commitment, focus, and hard work in accomplishing success, stating that these qualities are significant for realizing one’s potential.
At the end of his speech, he expanded his appreciation to the school principals and teachers for their devotion and advice in promoting the educational growth of the pupils.
