The Inspector-General of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), William Fayia Sellu, has officially decorated 25 newly promoted Senior Police Officers (SPOs) at a ceremony held at the Police Wives’ Complex, Kingtom.

The officers were elevated to ranks including Assistant Inspector-General (AIG), Commissioner of Police (CP), and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), following approval from the Police Council.

The event was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who doubles as the Chairman of the Police Council, and various senior government and security officials.

In his remarks, IGP Sellu congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, noting their dedication and resilience. “Promotion is a movement upwards,” he stated, encouraging them to renew their commitment to the nation.

Vice President Jalloh, the keynote speaker, praised the officers’ selfless service and highlighted ongoing government efforts to reform and elevate the police force to international standards.

He emphasized that these promotions were merit-based, positioning the officers for leadership roles within Sierra Leone and beyond.

The ceremony concluded with musical performances and a vote of thanks from newly promoted AIG, Mrs. Esther Mary Kaintor-Dukuray.
