The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Students’ Chapter at Eastern Technical University (ETU-SL) marked a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements of its graduating members. In a stirring message, Chapter President Rashid Ibrahim Fefegula described the graduates not merely as students completing their academic journey, but as “the architects of a New Sierra Leone.”
Fefegula praised the resilience of the students, who endured late nights, rigorous examinations, and the challenges of university life. “You are moving from lecture halls to boardrooms as the heartbeat of Sierra Leone’s workforce,” he said, highlighting the vital role of young professionals in shaping the nation’s future.
The Chapter’s success, he noted, is rooted in the support of the SLPP’s National Young Generation Council (NYGC) Leader Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon and National Students’ Coordinator Lawrence Mukeh Babawo, whose belief in the power of students has inspired confidence among the next generation of leaders.
Fefegula also paid tribute to prominent SLPP figures whose mentorship continues to empower youth, including Dr. Alie Kabba, Tim Kabba, Hon. Chief Minister Dr. David Sengeh, and Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq. He acknowledged their contributions to the Chapter and their commitment to nurturing students in Kenema and beyond.
Reaffirming the party’s unity and determination, the President emphasized that the SLPP remains focused on fixing Sierra Leone and leading the nation into 2028 and beyond. “We have the best ideas and the best people,” he said, stressing that students are not only the future of the party but also the future of the country.
To the graduating class, the message was clear: their journey is only beginning. “Your future is bright, and your future is Green,” Fefegula concluded, leaving the audience with a sense of pride, purpose, and optimism.
