In a bid to support the underprivileged in Sierra Leone, Elizabeth Mamakoh Fullah unveiled the Elizabeth Mamakoh Fullah Foundation at a ceremony held at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School along the Military Barracks Road in Pujehun.
The event witnessed a diverse gathering, including representatives from the Pujehun District Council, Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, media outlets, educators, and community leaders.
Elizabeth Mamakoh Fullah, the CEO of the foundation, emphasized its goal to assist those in need of social and emotional support, particularly children, disadvantaged individuals, and youth who have veered off course due to misguided career decisions.
“Choosing Pujehun district was intentional as research indicates it as the poorest district. Our aim is to guide youth towards meaningful careers and positive societal contributions,” stated Elizabeth.
Funding the foundation from her earnings, Elizabeth stressed the critical need for collaborative efforts from stakeholders to uplift the lives of the beneficiaries, asserting that the foundation’s impact would extend to the wider community.
Ibrahim Kabiru Sesay, the Gender Officer representing the Pujehun District Council, hailed the foundation’s launch as historic and pledged the council’s support, highlighting the importance of not only providing quotas but also actively aiding women to overcome challenges.
As the Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School graciously hosted the launch, Deputy Head Teacher Abdulai Sylvester Massaquoi expressed gratitude to Elizabeth for her initiative, assuring unwavering support from the school.
The culminating moment of the event was marked by the school authorities presenting a gift to Elizabeth Mamakoh Fullah, signifying their support and appreciation for her efforts.
The foundation’s establishment marks a milestone in addressing societal challenges in Pujehun, signaling hope for a brighter future for the underprivileged in the region.
