A team of German doctors is set to visit Bo City later this month to provide much-needed medical assistance to individuals living with club foot.

The initiative was unveiled during a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Bo City on Friday, October 13, 2023, by medical officials from the Bo Government Hospital, led by Dr. Ismaila Kebbie, the Manager and Senior Physiotherapist at the National Physical Rehabilitation Centre of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.

The National Physical Rehabilitation Centre operates various programs, including one dedicated to addressing club foot cases. Dr. Kebbie shared with Mayor Kobba Musa that the German medical team will be stationed at the Bo Government Hospital from October 23, 2023, to November 3, 2023.

During this period, they will conduct free surgeries on individuals suffering from club foot and will also distribute free club foot medication to children in need. This initiative aims to enhance the health and well-being of the people of Bo City.

Mayor Kobba Musa warmly welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of initiatives focused on public health. He expressed his belief that prioritizing the health and well-being of the community is vital for the growth and development of the city and the nation as a whole. He stated, “If we are to develop as a City and as a nation, then we must concentrate on our healthy well-being: sound bodies and mindsets will think of moving this city and the country forward.”

In a commitment to support the initiative, the Deputy Chief Administrator, Henry Powell, assured that the Council would provide its public relations platform to promote the project. Furthermore, the Council will collaborate with the Government hospital on future projects, activities, and initiatives to ensure the well-being of the people of Bo City.
