The National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA), the supply chain outfit of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), has swiftly responded to the Bo Stadium incident by providing a truckload of drugs and essential medical supplies to the Bo Government Hospital to aid in the care of victims.

In making the presentation on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the Deputy Managing Director of NMSA, Dr. Moses Batema at the grounds of the Bo Government Hospital said that, even though the district medical stores and the hospital had adequate stockpiles of drugs and medical supplies, the agency moved quickly to replenish stock that had already been used, but also provide additional supplies to cater to the needs of victims of the emergency.

As a responsible entity, we want to ensure that we remain resilient when responding to emergencies such as the Bo Stadium incident. We do not want the lack of essential medical supplies to hinder the excellent care that is being provided to the victims by the hardworking and compassionate staff of the hospital,” remarked the representative from NMSA.

In his response the Medical Superintendent of the Bo Government Hospital, Dr. Alex Kanu thanked NMSA for the timely support and assured that not only will the supplies be utilized for their intended purpose but that the hospital will do all they can to improve outcomes for victims of the incident that are currently in their care.

The presentation was done in the presence of prominent residents of Bo City, including Mr. Paul Duwai Sowa and the staff of the hospital who had heightened advocacy for the supply of these critical commodities.
