Kamando faces a charge of murder in connection with the death of Bundu Kamando, an incident allegedly occurring on June 28, 2025, in the bush area of Madina village.

He has been charged under Section 1 of the Offences Against the Persons Act of 1861, which has since been amended by the Abolition of Death Penalty Act No. 6 of 2022. According to the prosecution, Sheriff is accused of severely injuring the victim, Michel Paul Nicole, by inflicting wounds on his legs, severing his left thumb with a machete, and spraying a liquid, believed to be acid, into his eyes. Sheriff did not enter a plea in the case, and he was remanded at SLCC in Kenema. His preliminary proceedings are scheduled for January 16, 2025.

Both cases are being handled by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sulaiman Kamara, Esq., from the Legal and Justice Support Department of the Kenema Police Division.
