The Motema Police Divisional Headquarters are investigating the alleged murder of a 65-year-old hunter identified as Tamba Sam.

According to ASP Kamara F.U., Crime Officer at the headquarters, the incident occurred on February 5th, 2024, in Fanda Village 2, Sandor Chiefdom.

AIM Network reports that Police were informed around 4:00 pm local time that Sam had been shot and killed in a bush near his village. A team of officers led by OD-DSP Demba and D/Sgt Caulker responded to the scene and found Sam’s body with several injuries to his chest and shoulder. A shotgun with an empty shell was also discovered near the body.

The prime suspect, 30-year-old Sahr Kainessie, has been arrested and is assisting police with their investigation. Two additional individuals have also been brought in as potential witnesses.

Sam’s body has been transported to the Koidu Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
