The Infinity Mind Foundation (IMF), a charitable organization, has successfully conducted an awareness session on substance abuse at the Sunday Foundation School for girls in Kambia as part of their School Health Initiative Project (SHIP).
The session which was led by Madam Isatu Kamara, commonly known as “FOCUS 1000,” was geared towards educating the school children on the effects of abusing substances.
In her opening remarks, Madam Kamara introduced a module on substance abuse, thus emphasizing its adverse and long term effects on students and society with referenced examples in their surroundings.
Repotedly, the school authorities and teachers warmly embraced the engagement by actively participating in the discussion, with several teachers tendering interests in joining the Foundation to contribute to its mission of societal transformation.
The school administration reportedly expressed profound gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging that the knowledge impacted was more valuable that financial support, as they said it empowers both the teachers and the students to adopt preventive measures for a safer school environment.
By conclusion, the school authorities further expressed excitement as they commit to continuing the engagements during school assembly sessions as a way of ensuring that all their students benefit from the awareness campaign.
We hope the future of our youths all over Sierra Leone will be benefited & saved through such initiatives from an INGO founded by our own Sierra Leonean person.
Many thanks Infinity Mind Foundation
