Bakeh Loko Chiefdom has successfully concluded its Paramount Chieftaincy runoff election held on Saturday, November 29, at the conference hall in Port Loko District.
The election brought together the two leading candidates from the first round—Ishmail Opapa Bangura of the Adikali Mela I Ruling House and Abdul Bangura of the Moribia Ruling House.
At the close of the voting process, Ishmail Opapa Bangura secured 362 votes (59.3%) defeating Abdul Bangura who obtained 248 votes (40.7%)
The runoff was conducted peacefully, with security officers, electoral officials, and traditional authorities ensuring a smooth and transparent process. Community members, stakeholders, and observers praised the election for its orderliness.
With his victory confirmed, Ishmail Opapa Bangura now moves forward as Paramount Chief–Elect of Bakeh Loko Chiefdom. He is expected to begin consultations with elders, ruling houses, and community groups as preparations for his formal installation.
