In a way of fulfilling his obligations as a Muslim by helping the needy during the holy month of Ramadan, Alhaji Juldeh Sow, a popular Fulani Marketer in Sierra Leone, recently changed the prices of his flour business.
At a time when fellow marketers are hiking prices of foodstuffs, Sow took the venture to reduce the prices of flour to prevent an increase in the price of bread which a large number of Sierra Leoneans depend on after rice, which is the country’s staple food.
Sow has made flour available at a lower cost with over 10% discounts on the actual prices of the different types. Life flour is now sold at 750Nle while Mega flour, Bon flour, and Baker’s flour have been reduced to Nle710.
As a large number of Muslims solely depend on bread for ‘suhoor’ (morning food), this has helped make fasting easy for them.
Alhaji Juldeh Sow known and admired for his humbleness, is one of Sierra Leone’s richest businessmen. Sow has a large-scale flour plant in Freetown.
