Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, politician and former leader of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), has publicly recounted the hardships he endured during his imprisonment.

In a Facebook post, Mansaray accused President Julius Maada Bio of attempting to eliminate him for his outspoken advocacy on behalf of the people of Sierra Leone.

Accompanying the post were stark photos of Mansaray, emaciated from his time in detention. He shared these images to illustrate the extent of his suffering, stating, “I want the public to understand the pain I endured.”

Mansaray credited his survival to divine intervention, declaring, “God kept me alive and God will continue to protect me.”

The photos, Mansaray revealed, were taken shortly after his release on bail due to a severe decline in his health. Despite his ordeal, Mansaray vowed to remain steadfast in his fight for the people and the nation, concluding his post with a plea for God’s healing upon Sierra Leone.

Mansaray spent nearly four years in prison following his conviction for the sexual penetration of a minor in Kono, eastern Sierra Leone. A vocal critic of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) after the 2018 elections, Mansaray consistently maintained his innocence, leading many to believe his imprisonment was politically motivated.
