Sierra Leone’s Entertainment Ambassador and hip-hop icon, Kao Denero, recently sparked controversy after responding harshly to a fan’s comment on his Facebook post.
The fan, who expressed admiration for Kao Denero, suggested that the rapper should be more mindful of his photo backgrounds, stating, “this photo is not good to post on social media because you are far above rappers in Sierra Leone.”
The concerned fan praised Denero as “the King of all kings” and urged him to elevate his image in the music scene.
In response, Kao Denero slammed the fan over his advice by labeling him “daft,” saying, “This is so sad Damn. Have you seen Jamaican artists relaxing in the hood and ghettos? Why una so daft so ba? Does everything have to be packaged? Man listen I live a real life and that will reflect on everything I do.”
Kao Denero’s response drew immediate criticism from other fans who felt that the rapper’s reaction was unwarranted.
One commentator expressed disapproval of Kao Denero’s choice of words, stating, “Kao Denero calling your fan ‘daft’ is uncalled for. The fan praised you even before making his statement of advice. It’s high time you start respecting us as your fans. You can’t be insulting us and expect us to attend your show.”
Another fan, while reiterating his loyalty to Kao Denero, questioned the rapper’s intent behind some of his posts, saying, “Do you know how it feels?” This comment reflects a broader concern among fans about the disconnect they feel between themselves and the artist they admire.
The exchange has sparked a heated debate within various social media handles, raising questions about the relationship between Kao Denero and his supporters.
