Magistrate Mustapha Braima-Jah has remanded two associates of Sierra Leonean rap icon Amara Denis Turay, popularly known as Kao Denero, following a late court appearance by one of the accused during a hearing on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

The first accused, Amidu Sesay, arrived at the Pademba Road Court No.1 after Magistrate Braima-Jah had already issued a bench warrant for his arrest. The warrant followed an application made by the prosecutor, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Juan Bull. In response to the delay and disruption of court proceedings, Magistrate Braima-Jah revoked bail for both Sesay and his co-accused, Mohamed Hemon Kbo.

The two are currently being investigated for seven counts, including assault, intimidation, and other related offences.

The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place at a musical concert hosted by fellow artist Star Zee at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Freetown on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Prosecutors claim that during the event, Sesay and Kbo assaulted another artist.

This marks the second hearing in the case, which continues to attract public attention due to the high-profile connections of the accused. The matter is scheduled to resume today, Friday, June 13, 2025.
