Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon of Pademba Road Court No. 3 has committed Sahr Emmanuel Borbor to the High Court for trial on one count of arson, following the conclusion of preliminary investigations.
The accused, Borbor, was arrested and charged on February 14, 2025, with Arson, contrary to Section 3 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861. The prosecution alleges that on November 9, 2024, the accused willfully set fire to two residential houses at No. 21 Vincent Drive, Second Hill, Kallon Drive, Spur Loop, Wilberforce, in Freetown, with the intent to destroy property belonging to a police officer.
During the proceedings, Prosecutor Inspector T. Macfoy led four witnesses, including the complainant, two eyewitnesses, and the investigating officer.
Magistrate Kallon, after hearing testimonies, committed the matter to the High Court, stating that there is sufficient evidence for the matter to proceed to trial.
The accused was remanded to the Male Correctional Centre pending his appearance before the High Court.
