An Italian man has been arrested and charged with drug possession and trafficking at Freetown International Airport.
Jeffrey Iyase was apprehended on August 17th after security personnel discovered 71 wraps of a substance believed to be cocaine in his luggage.
Iyase was arrested while preparing to board a flight to Casablanca, Morocco. He allegedly admitted to being hired by an unknown individual in Italy to transport the drugs.
The accused has been remanded in custody pending further investigation.
