A young man named Issa Mohamed Kamara was docked at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court for allegedly threatening Police Commander, Mohamed Sama at Mile 38 Checkpoint.

According to the police Kamara is said to have sent threatening messages directed at Sama and his family for blocking All People’s Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate Samura Kamara’s convoy at Magbontoso 38 miles from the capital, Freetown.

Sama said the accused was arrested after the Cyber Unit of the Sierra Leone Police traced messages sent from WhatsApp to Kamara as one of the authors.

The 20-year-old accused, who was not represented in court, was left dumbfounded in court.

He is facing three counts of cyberbullying, sending obscene and insulting messages via a computer system in contravention of the Cybersecurity and Crime Act of 2021.
