A young man, Ibrahim Jabbie, reported a potential rape incident that unfolded on Friday, 28th March, 2025 between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. after he arrived at a friend’s new residence trying to offer support during a time of sickness.
Jabbie, who traveled from Bo City, shared that he had been feeling unwell over the past week, which prompted his decision to come back him as advised by his Mum. While he was on his way home, he said he received a call from his friend Billy, who claimed to be sick and requested some medicines, and pleaded with him to check on him at his new resident at Anta Drive, so Jabbie said he decided to check on him.
Upon reaching Anta Drive Junction, Jabbie said he requested his friend’s location, to which Billy responded, stating he was on his way to pick him up. While he was received at the junction, he said his friend mistakenly sent him a message that reads, “I have received him, I’m leading him to my house now,” which Jabbie noted he still had evidence for on his phone.
Once he arrived at the location, he said he encountered Billy along with two other individuals, a Spanish man and a Sierra Leonean man. Jabbie reported that they attempted to pressure him into consuming alcohol and using substances, which he refused. While seated, he saw the two men kissing, prompting him to tune out and listen to music instead.
The situation escalated when the individuals repeatedly encouraged him to drink. Frustrated, Jabbie said he placed the drink aside and excused himself to the bathroom. While at the bathroom, he saw Billy through a window pouring an unidentified substance into the drink, which he had declined.
Upon returning, he said Billy continued to urge him to consume the beverage, trying to convince him with the statement, “Bro, come on! Drink, you know we are close.” Noticing a shift in his demeanor, he explained that the confrontation turned physical, resulting in a fight as the tensions heightened.
Fortunately, Jabbie asserted that passerby outside the compound heard the commotion, prompting a security guard to intervene swiftly and rescued him. Jabbie stated that the three individuals quickly retreated and locked themselves inside the house following the altercation.
Authorities have been notified about the incident, and investigations are reportedly ongoing.
