A recent report has shed light on a fraudulent scheme involving the impersonation of government official Umaru Napoleon Koroma, the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources
The report indicates that an unidentified individual utilized the phone number +23233152630, presenting themselves as “Napoleon Koroma ESQ” to deceive individuals.
Under false pretenses, the impersonator, reportedly identified as Mohammed Janneh, also known as “Janneh Napoleon,” targeted unsuspecting victims with promises of job opportunities, scholarships, and travel arrangements. However, investigations revealed that these claims were entirely fictitious, exploiting the trust of innocent people.
According to the report, Mohammed Janneh has been apprehended and is currently in custody as of May 1st, 2024, pending further investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department.
The public is urged to remain vigilant against such scams to prevent further exploitation
