The Sierra Leone police on Monday 15th July 2024 apprehended Ken Kamara in Bo City a local resident of Bo Number 2 Extension for was apprehended for impersonating a police officer.

Kamara, who lacked any official identification or credentials admitted that he had been posing as a police officer to commercial motorbike riders for an extended period as a means of survival.

The arrest occurred after Kamara, pretending to be an officer, stopped an unregistered motorbike on Mahei-Boima Road in Bo City. This incident underscores the diligent efforts of the Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh, who has been at the forefront of maintaining law and order in the region.

Under Mr. Kanneh’s leadership, the police force has emphasized integrity and transparency. His unwavering commitment to rooting out impostors and safeguarding the public from fraudulent activities has been particularly noteworthy. Following Kamara’s arrest, AIG Brima Kanneh issued a stern warning that any civilian caught impersonating a police officer would face the full extent of the law.

“We will not tolerate anyone undermining the trust and authority of the police force,” stated Mr. Kanneh. He emphasized that Kamara’s arrest should serve as a deterrent to others contemplating similar actions.
