Claudius Roberts, a 22-year-old, was sentenced to six months imprisonment at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown after appearing before Magistrate Mark Ngeba of Court No.1.

Roberts was charged with malicious damage, as outlined in Section 51 of the Malicious Damage Act of 1861, and pleaded guilty to the one-count charge.

According to the indictment read out by the court registrar, Roberts was alleged to have maliciously damaged four pieces of billboards, each valued at one thousand, five hundred new Leones, along Main Motor Road in Brookfield’s, Freetown on April 2, 2023.

The total value of the damage amounted to six thousand New Leones and the billboards belonged to the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).

Dauda Kamara arrested Roberts on April 4, 2023, around 11:50 am at Sanders Drive, Fayia Corner, Brookfield’s, Freetown, and reported him to the police.

After hearing the case, the magistrate wasted no time in sentencing Roberts to six months imprisonment.
