Magistrate Mamakoh Sao Kallon of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 3 has on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, reportedly ordered the remand of a young man, Joselyn Manley, who is facing a charge of larceny involving property valued at over ten thousand new Leones.

Report confirmed that the accused appeared before the court on a single count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Sky Vision College in Wilberforce, Freetown, Manley allegedly stole two surface water pumps valued at Nle5,000, a generator battery worth Nle4,557, and other assorted items.

The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ten thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven new Leones. The stolen items were reportedly under the care of one Eric Sam King at the time of the incident.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken. Prosecuting officer ASP Kamara informed the court that he had only just received the case file and requested an adjournment to properly review the matter.

Magistrate Kallon granted the application and ordered that the accused be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility. The matter was adjourned to August 11, 2025, for further hearing
