Sierra Leonean makeup artist Mary Yei Yongai, a Guinness World Record holder for the most makeup applications in 24 hours, has been officially appointed as the Honorary Global Ambassador for the International Beauty Fashion Association’s (IBFA) New York-based fashion and beauty brand.
Mary Yei Yongai first gained international recognition when she broke a Guinness World Record by completing 111 cosmetic makeovers in just 24 hours at the Bintumani Car Park in Freetown. The feat was more than a record attempt; it celebrated resilience, creativity, and the power of following one’s dreams.
In her new role as IBFA’s Honorary Global Ambassador, Mary is tasked with mentoring and educating the next generation of artists, building communities and connections across borders, providing resources and platforms for creatives to grow, and championing global exposure and cross-cultural exchange.
Mary’s journey exemplifies how talent combined with opportunity can break boundaries and create new possibilities. Her story serves as an inspiration for aspiring creatives to dream boldly and pursue their vision.
“I have always wanted to enter the American beauty industry, and now, by God’s grace, I’m officially the Honorary Global Ambassador for the International Beauty Fashion Association based in New York. Another history has been made, and I’m honored to serve as the beauty trainer for New York Fashion Week,” Mary Yei Yongai stated.
