Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown has remanded twenty-four-year-old mason, Musa Quee on charges of possession and sale of prohibited drugs under sections 8(a) and 7(c) of the National Drug Control Act of 2008.
According to the charge sheet, Quee was accused of possessing 125 raps of Kush without lawful authority on 10th May 2024, at CRS Grafton, Freetown.
State Counsel D. Sawyerr presented Detective Police Constable 13926 Koroma O.W., who testified that he received the case file for further investigation.
The file contained an abstract report, voluntary statement from the accused, progress report, forensic analysis request, and advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, all of which were submitted as evidence.
The accused Queen was charged by Detective Sergeant 9859 Sundu S.A. with the offenses of possession, sale, and offering for sale of prohibited drugs. The accused statement which was taken in Krio and recorded in English, was confirmed with his thumbprint.
Defense counsel A. Bangura cross-examined the witness to establish Quee’s innocence. However, Magistrate Kekura denied bail, remanding Quee at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown and the matter was adjoined for further hearing.
