Momoh Samura, a 32-year-old mason, has been remanded in custody after being charged with housebreaking and larceny.

The charges were brought before Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.

According to the prosecution, on July 15, 2021, Samura unlawfully entered the residence of Isatu Kamara at Attaya Base, Will Top, Hill Station, with the intent to steal.

He allegedly took several items, including a pair of foam slippers, ten crayons, assorted rulers, a laundry board, and other belongings, amounting to a total value of Le 2,469,000.

Samura, who did not enter a plea when the charges were read, is accused of violating Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. The case is being prosecuted by Sergeant Florence M. Wilson, who requested an adjournment to confer with her witness.

Magistrate Bangura denied bail and ordered that Samura be held at the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case has been adjourned until August 30, 2024, when further proceedings will continue
