The Mayor of Kenema City, Thomas Baio has settled the dispute between the two executive body for the Sierra Leone Commercial Bike Riders Union, the Eastern Regional Executive and the Kenema District Executive who have been at each other’s throat for a long time now.

Mayor Baio been eyed by many individuals in the City as a person who comes in to make things happen in terms of unity and work dispensation.

The two executive body for the Sierra Leone Commercial Bike Riders Union being the Eastern Regional Executive and the Kenema District Executive have been at each other’s throat for a long time now as many attempts made to bring them together proved futile and that has led to the timely intervention of Mayor Thomas Tagbateh Baio which has restored peace and unity amongst the two executives.

In settling the dispute, both parties explained their dissatisfaction over each other which is mainly targeted to disrespect and regards amongst them. The Mayor then called on them to remain calm and work as a team for the sustainable movement as well as efficient and effective coexistence between the executive and members.

Mayor Baio has once contested for the chairmanship position of Bike riders in Kenema District. He assured them that he is one of them, noting that keeping the peace will create more opportunities for them. He reminded them that, the Commercial Motor Bike Union’s establishment have created a way for many young individuals to be independent.

As Members of the public use Commercial motorbikes as their quickest means of transportation to their respective destinations it may be prudent to have them on good terms to maintain a sustainable peace and development in the Eastern Region and the country at large as that play a very important role in the daily happenings.

The dialogue session was climaxed by the two executives hugging each other and assured the mayor of their commitment to peace.

In his statement, the Eastern Regional Chairman, Mohamed Rex Vandi expressed total satisfaction and confirmed that they have been praying for this day as they are all working towards achieving the same goal.

His statement was followed by the Kenema District Chairman, Patrick Brima Mando who also summed up his speech by committing his executives and members to peace going forward.

Both parties commended Mayor Thomas Tagbateh Baio for his timely intervention in working out this peace talk between them and promised of personal engagement with their membership as well as the National body.
