Abdul Sankoh and Sulaiman Bangura are before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No.1 for wounding with intent contrary to section 20 of the Offences Against Person Act of 1816.
The two Accused were arraigned in Court for chopping an elderly man with a machete contrary to the law.
The two accused persons were charged with two counts of charges.
On count one, it was alleged that on Saturday 2oth November 2022, in New York in Waterloo, Abdul Sankoh alias Delta and Sulaiman Bangura wounded Abdul Sesay with the intent to disfigure him.
On count two, it alleged the accused persons at the same place and date maliciously wounded Abdul Sesay.
The defence counsel A S Sesay cross-examined the X-ray report and wanted to confront the report but the prosecutor Assistance Superintendent of Police Mohamed Bangura objected.
The objection was sustained by Magistrate Sahr Kekura who advised the defence counsel to wait for the doctor’s report.
The defence requested a standdown for further cross-examination.
A few minutes after, the witness testifies that as soon as the accused saw him, he rushed and chopped him.
Magistrate Sahr Kekura adjourned the matter to Thursday 13 April for another hearing.
