The Moyamba Police Division, under the leadership of Local Unit Commander (LUC) CSP Foday O. Sesay, celebrated the end of the year with a festive party and awards ceremony at the Moyamba District Council Hall on the 3rd January 2025.

The event, which began at 8:00 PM, brought together prominent stakeholders, including Paramount Chiefs, heads of various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), and members of the Local Policing Partnership Board (LPPB).

In his welcome address, CSP Foday Sesay expressed heartfelt gratitude to attendees and outlined the event’s purpose, which focused on three key themes: thanking God for guidance throughout 2024, recognizing the exemplary service of personnel including retirees and appreciating the steadfast support from community stakeholders across the 12 Chiefdoms. Sesay emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contributions of dedicated personnel, stating, “When the efforts of hardworking and loyal personnel are recognized and rewarded, they will be highly motivated to work, leading to improved job performance.”

The ceremony was chaired by District Officer Mr. Alpha Moi Sowa, who facilitated speeches from various stakeholders, including LPPB Chairman and AIG Esther Kaintor-Dukuray, representing the Inspector General of Police. The evening was further enlivened by performances from the SLP Dance Band, providing entertainment for the guests.

A total of 29 individuals, including four retirees and two Civil Society Volunteers (CSVs), received Certificates of Recognition and Appreciation for their diligent service to the Sierra Leone Police (SLP). Additionally, five Chiefdoms Kagboro, Dasse, Kori, Fakunya, and Kaiyamba were honored with certificates for their unwavering collaboration in promoting safety and security within their communities.

Guests enjoyed a variety of Sierra Leonean dishes and drinks throughout the evening. The festivities concluded at 3:00 AM, marking a successful celebration of service and community partnership in maintaining peace and security in the Moyamba District.
