Hon. Alie Bayoh, Member of Parliament for Constituency 013 in Kenema District, has donated building materials to residents of Ngeiwoma and Kuawuma Section as part of his New Year engagement with constituents.
The donation, which took place during the New Year holidays, included bags of cement, bundles of zinc, nails, and other construction materials.
According to community representatives, the items are intended to support ongoing development projects such as the construction and rehabilitation of community centres, schools, places of worship, and health posts.
During the presentation, Hon. Bayoh stated that his role as a legislator goes beyond parliamentary representation to include regular interaction with constituents and support for initiatives aimed at improving living conditions at the community level. He noted that such engagements allow him to better understand local priorities and contribute to development efforts where possible.
Residents and community leaders in Ngeiwoma and Kuawuma Section welcomed the gesture, describing it as a practical contribution toward addressing infrastructure needs in the area. They said the materials would help accelerate stalled projects and strengthen community-driven development activities.
Observers say the outreach forms part of broader efforts by elected representatives in the district to maintain close ties with constituents and support grassroots development. For residents of Constituency 013, the New Year donation was viewed as a continuation of Hon. Bayoh’s engagement with communities in Kenema District and his stated commitment to supporting sustainable local development.
