NP Sierra Leone Limited has officially inaugurated the newly rehabilitated Kingtom Police Primary School in Freetown on Tuesday, August 2, 2025.

The ceremony was graced by the Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, who underscored the importance of education as the bedrock of society. She commended NP Sierra Leone for its investment, noting: “The future of these children is the future of our nation, and any investment that you make is an investment in Sierra Leone.”

Chief Executive Officer of NP Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed S. Kanu, described the occasion as a remarkable day for both the company and the school community. He emphasized the centrality of education to national growth and personal development, adding: “Education is at the heart of our nation’s development.”

Dr. Kanu outlined the company’s commitment to giving back to society, highlighting the major improvements undertaken at the school.

These include the installation of a water tower, construction of a new five-classroom building, provision of new desks and chairs, and the restoration of existing infrastructure. He encouraged teachers and pupils to take good care of the upgraded facilities.

The head teacher, Mr. Abu Turay, expressed heartfelt gratitude to NP Sierra Leone for sponsoring the rehabilitation project and furnishing the school. He described the transformation as a source of immense joy: “You have shown us what a powerful difference change can make when it gives back to the community,” he said.

The event concluded with a shared sense of pride among stakeholders, as the Kingtom Police Primary School celebrated a new chapter in its history.
