The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has launched a nationwide public sensitization campaign aimed at increasing awareness of tax payment and compliance across Sierra Leone.
The campaign combines traditional public outreach with digital solutions to ensure citizens are informed about their tax obligations and how to meet them. As part of the initiative, the NRA has branded six Waka Fine buses with information on its online tax portal, turning them into mobile awareness platforms that travel through major communities.
In addition, the Authority has set up mobile NRA booths at strategic locations across the country. The booths provide on-the-spot services, including taxpayer guidance, registration support, and assistance with tax payments, bringing services closer to the public.
To enhance accessibility, the NRA has also introduced a mobile application, now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The application allows taxpayers to register, access relevant information, and make payments electronically.
According to the Authority, the initiative is intended to improve voluntary compliance and strengthen revenue mobilization by making tax processes more visible and accessible to citizens.
The campaign reflects the NRA’s ongoing efforts to modernize tax administration and improve public engagement in support of national development.
