One Dead as Two Men Fight Dirty Over a Woman in Kenema

A violent confrontation between two men over a woman has resulted in one fatality, police have confirmed.

The incident occurred on Friday night at the New England section of Nyandeyama in Kenema city.

According to Police Operations Boss Mohamed Konneh, the deceased and his assailant, were involved in a romantic rivalry with a woman who was not the wife of either man.

Eyewitness James Jamil Fatorma said, “The young lady lives alone with a young child at Nyandeyama New England where I also live. Her husband has left the community for a long period of time hoping to seek greener pastures elsewhere.”

“One of the boyfriends who had arrived earlier has been romancing with the lady before the rival boyfriend arrived which resulted into possible struggles between the pair as seen on the ground where the clash may have probably occurred.”

The witness reported a struggle between the two men, leading to the fatal stabbing of one. The suspect is alleged to have removed the body from the crime scene.

Both the suspect and the woman have been apprehended by the police, while the woman’s husband has been informed and is en route to Freetown.

Authorities are investigating the matter and have promised to release further details in due course.
