Orange Sierra Leone has announced a major update to its data services, discontinuing the popular Le 60 Kolat bundle as of November 2nd.
The change is part of a strategic shift to migrate customers to higher-value plans that promise improved internet speeds and a better user experience.
The key change is the removal of the week-long, 1Mbps bundle for Le 60. In its place, the company is encouraging users to adopt its other Kolat offers, which now provide faster speeds at competitive price points. The available plans are now:
Daily: 1Mbps for Le 15
3-Day: 2Mbps for Le 40
Weekly: 2Mbps for Le 100
According to the company, this move is aimed at “improving speed, service quality, and overall customer satisfaction.”
The new 2Mbps speed for the 3-Day and Weekly plans is double the previous rate, intended to provide a noticeably faster browsing experience. Subscribers will receive an SMS confirmation upon purchase verifying the 2Mbps speed.

What Customers Need to Know:
Exclusive Access: Subscription to all Kolat bundles is now available only through the Orange Max it app. The service can no longer be activated via a short code.
Existing Bundles Protected: Any Le 60 weekly bundle purchased before the November 2nd deadline will remain valid at its original 1Mbps speed until its 7-day expiry date.
Device Compatibility: The Kolat bundles are specifically for use on mobile phones and cannot be used with an Airbox or Speedbox device.
Gifting Data: Users can purchase Kolat offers for another person’s number.
Expiry Notifications: Subscribers will receive an SMS alert before their bundle expires.
Not Unlimited: The bundles are valid for a specific duration (1, 3, or 7 days) and are not unlimited data plans.
Balance Check: There is no way for customers to check their remaining data balance for the Kolat bundle.
For users seeking a lower-priced weekly alternative, Orange confirmed there are no other weekly bundles at a lower price than the new Le 100 offer.
However, the company highlighted its shorter-validity “Menteh-Menteh” bundles (1-day and 3-day) as cost-effective options for users with different needs. Once a Kolat bundle expires, customers can continue browsing using their normal data balance.

It’s highly expensive. Le 40 increase directly, is so exorbitant. Personally I will never buy such an expensive data subscribe.
Orange is most wicked mobile network company in sierra Leone if their way for us move away from this network 🛜 it will better . They don’t even care about students in learning institution who rely on data for their assignment .we are switching over to Qcell salon pride
Orange SL, I’m disappointed by the recent increase in your weekly data sub from Le 60 to Le 100. This change doesn’t consider the needs of students, low-income earners and others who rely on affordable access. Please reconsider this decision and bring back the Le 60 1mbps alot of people are okay with it. Note: your Le 100 for 2mbps can still be their for those that can afford it.
