Osman Timbo, an All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, has expressed deep concern over what he described as the worsening state of social services and the future of the nation.
Speaking passionately, Timbo stressed that many citizens who need medical attention are still unable to see doctors, noting that the country continues to rely heavily on a few major facilities such as Connaught Hospital, Cottage Hospital, and a handful of others.
He also raised questions about the education sector, asking how many children who should be in school have instead dropped out due to hardship and lack of support. According to him, the situation reflects a broader failure to secure the future of the younger generation.
Timbo further highlighted the issue of unemployment, stressing that the lack of jobs has left many young people idle. Quoting the popular saying that “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop,” he warned that this reality has contributed to a rise in drug abuse, particularly the growing menace of Kush addiction among youths.
Describing the trend as a direct threat to national development, Timbo cautioned that the future of the country is being steadily destroyed. He ended his remarks with a pointed question to the nation: can the people continue to sit and wait while these challenges persist?
