The Sierra Leone Police in Bo, Southern Sierra Leone, are currently delving into the circumstances surrounding a fire incident that ravaged the local market. The blaze erupted in the early hours of Sunday, 24th March 2024, and rapidly engulfed multiple stalls and shops, inflicting extensive damage.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Brima Kanneh, the Regional Police Commander South, along with the operations team, are actively investigating the incident. Eyewitnesses reported witnessing flames and hearing explosions emanating from one of the stalls before the fire rapidly spread throughout the market. AIG Kanneh is leading efforts to ascertain whether the fire was accidental or the result of intentional actions.
The police investigation team is meticulously scouring the scene for any signs of arson or foul play. Additionally, they are reviewing surveillance footage to reconstruct the events leading up to the outbreak.
AIG Kanneh urges individuals with pertinent information regarding the incident to step forward and aid in the investigation.
