The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has advanced its capacity-building efforts by holding separate meetings with ambassadors from China and Egypt. On June 27, 2024, ACP Esther Mary Kaintor-Dukuray, Acting Director of Training, and DSP Alpha Kamara, Head of Training, met with the diplomats to enhance cooperation on training initiatives.

ACP Kaintor-Dukuray expressed gratitude for the training opportunities, noting improved officer performance. The ambassadors affirmed their commitment to ongoing training and collective responsibility, highlighting the importance of strengthening Sierra Leone’s internal security. They proposed strategic partnerships between the SLP and police organizations in their respective countries.

Mr. Zhangdianbin, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, and H.E. Sheriff Ahmed Mohamed Rifaat, Egyptian Ambassador, pledged their support, following established protocols. This support will be formalized through a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The meetings concluded with letters of appreciation from Mrs. Dukuray, acknowledging the support in enhancing professional service delivery. These efforts are expected to significantly boost Sierra Leone’s internal security, demonstrating the SLP’s commitment to effective public service.
