The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has issued an official statement addressing a disturbing video and accompanying audio currently circulating on social media, which falsely claim that a violent incident took place at Ogoo Farm in Sierra Leone.

The video, depicting the dismemberment of an unidentified individual, alleges that the incident occurred locally and that the perpetrator had been apprehended and taken to the police station in Mambo. Additionally, the claims suggest that the victim was a pupil from Divine School.

However, the SLP has categorically denied these allegations. In its statement, the police emphasized that the incident portrayed in the video did not occur in Sierra Leone.

To further investigate the matter, the SLP consulted Mr. Foday Kekuda Mansaray, the headman of the Mambo community, who dismissed the claims as false, malicious, and aimed at spreading unnecessary fear within the community.

The police have urged the public to remain calm and continue with their daily activities as usual. They reassured citizens that the SLP is fully committed to maintaining the safety and security of all residents and will continue to monitor and address any potential threats.

The SLP also cautioned against the spread of misinformation and encouraged the public to verify the authenticity of content before sharing it, particularly when it could incite fear or panic within the community.
