Sierra Leone Police regional coordinator, Inspector Francess Blake, partnered with Youth Empowerment Bo to combat the escalating issue of drug abuse among the country’s youth.
Expressing shared concerns, both the Sierra Leone Police Force and Youth Empowerment highlighted the severe consequences of drug abuse, ranging from health issues to addiction and criminal involvement. Coordinator Blake stressed the urgency of raising awareness about these dangers and fostering a culture of a drug-free lifestyle.
In a united front, Sierra Leone Police and Youth Empowerment called for collaboration among parents, schools, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to tackle the pervasive problem. They urged parents to actively monitor their children’s activities and educate them about the risks associated with drug abuse.
Youth Empowerment eemphasizesthe importance of rehabilitation and support services for those struggling with addiction. They appealed to the government and stakeholders to invest in prevention programs and treatment facilities.
