A renowned prophet of the Power of God Ministry International, Prophet Michael, has been publicly criticized and disparaged for choking the necks of his church members in the name of casting out demons.
The controversial pictures, posted by several social media bloggers, depicts Prophet Michael forcefully gripping the necks of a young man and woman. The posts have ignited a firestorm of criticism, with many questioning the prophet’s methods of deliverance.
Brima Bob Boima, commenting on the social media posts, argued that the prophet’s actions contradict the spiritual principles of faith.
“For it is not by might, neither by power, but by the spirit of God,” he wrote, suggesting that genuine deliverance should not involve physical violence.
However, supporters of Prophet Michael have defended his practices. One church member challenged the critics, inviting them to attend a service at the “old school wash car by the market” to witness the “healing and deliverance” taking place. “The boy you see was mad, but now restored,” she claimed, asserting Prophet Michael’s divine authority.
An anonymous commenter, reflecting on the situation, urged individuals to cultivate a personal relationship with God through prayer and scripture, referencing the childhood song, “Read your Bible, pray every day.”
Patsiah Favour defended the prophet, citing biblical passages about casting out demons and the spiritual nature of the battle. “The Bible says cast out demons… For he has given us power,” he argued, warning against judging spiritual matters.
