The defense team is poised to present their arguments in the murder case involving a Providence Pupil and his Teacher.

following the State Prosecutor, Umu Sumaray’s closure of the case on Thursday, July 27, 2023, during the preliminary investigation at the Pademba Road Magistrate Court.

During the proceedings, the prosecution called their ninth witness, Detective Inspector Tamba Kasegbama, from the CID Homicide Unit, who testified that he was on duty when the accused was apprehended by the Aberdeen Police and subsequently taken to Adelaide Street Police station.

The accused, a 17-year-old pupil, is charged with one count of murder, which is in violation of the law. The police claim that he committed the crime at his teacher, Gillis Ola Johnson’s Victoria Street residence.

Throughout the proceedings, the accused has vehemently denied the allegations against him.

The case is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, August 2, where the defense will present their argument.
