In a bid to enhance transparency and community involvement in education and development projects, the Pujehun District Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) Committee conducted a comprehensive training program on effective reporting.

The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including head teachers, school management committee members, community teachers associations, people with disabilities, religious leaders, and others.

Ibrahim Borgiwa Swaray, Secretary of the Pujehun District GRM Committee, underscored the significance of the Free Quality Education Project initiated by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education. The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to report grievances related to the rehabilitation, refurbishment, and construction of schools, along with other government-led development projects in the district.

Swaray emphasized the committee’s dedication, comprising 23 members from various institutions actively working to ensure the success of all projects under the Free Quality Education initiative. Participants were urged to act as vigilant monitors, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the committee.

Madam Amie Kemokai, Chairlady of Persons with Disability in Pujehun, called for the inclusion of provisions catering to all categories of disabled individuals, emphasizing the importance of proactive monitoring to ensure project contractors fulfill their responsibilities.

Festus Gbanie, the District Coordinator of the Office of National Security in Pujehun District, delivered a comprehensive lecture on various categories of complaints, providing valuable insights for effective identification and reporting.

The training program represents a crucial step towards fostering transparency, accountability, and community engagement in education and development projects within Pujehun District. Participants are expected to utilize the gained knowledge and skills to actively contribute to ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education and infrastructure in the district.

The Pujehun District GRM Committee reiterated its commitment to providing a robust mechanism for promptly and fairly addressing grievances. They encouraged all education stakeholders to utilize the committee’s services, working together towards the common goal of ensuring the successful implementation of the Free Quality Education Project and other government-led development initiatives in the district.

Chairman of the School Management Committee, Mohamed A. Vandi of SLIM Primary School Gbondapi, expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged dedication to actively monitor and report any issues hindering the progress of education projects in Pujehun District.
