A Qnet Marketing Officer Theohhilus Momoh Samba Kamara together with Jeremiah Mariatu Samba Kamara and Isatu Mansaray were remanded in prison after they appeared before Magistrate Hadiru Daboh of the Ross Road Court No.3 in Freetown for Alleged conspiracy to defraud related charges.

According to the particulars of the offense, it was alleged that between December 1st, 2022, and January 30th, 2023, at Grassfield Kissy, Freetown, the first and second accused, Momoh Samba Kamara and Mariatu Samba Kamara, conspired with others unknown with the intent to defraud.

They obtained an amount of eighteen thousand Leones from Kadiatu Sankoh, the first complainant, by falsely pretending that they would facilitate the travel of Sankoh’s daughter, Isatu Conteh, to Canada, knowing this representation to be false.

The police further allege that Mariatu Samba Kamara, the third accused, also in January 2023, with the intent to defraud, induced Kadiatu Sankoh to pay the sum of eighteen thousand Leones (Le18,000) to Momoh Samba Kamara, the first accused, who purported to facilitate the travel of Sankoh’s daughter, Isatu Conteh, to Canada, despite knowing that this was false.

Additionally, it is alleged that the third and fourth accused persons, Isatu Mansaray and Jeremiah Theophilus, sometime in May of the same year, conspired with others unknown at City Road, Wellington, Freetown, to defraud. They obtained twenty-two thousand Leones from Ibrahim Kargbo, the second complainant, by falsely pretending that they would facilitate his travel to Canada, despite knowing this to be false.

After hearing from the prosecution, Magistrate Daboh remanded all three accused persons, and the matter adjoined for further hearing.
