Residents of the Hill Station community, particularly those near the City Supermarket area, are expressing alarm over high voltage fluctuations linked to a newly installed transformer by the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA).

For over five days, locals have reported dangerously high and unstable voltages emanating from the transformer, leading to significant damage to essential household appliances, including bulbs, switches, televisions, and refrigerators.

One frustrated resident shared, “We are living in fear. Every time the power comes on, we hear sparks and see bulbs bursting. We’ve lost so many valuable appliances.” The ongoing electrical issues have left many in the community anxious about their safety and the potential for further damage.

Despite the efforts of EDSA technicians to resolve the problem, residents say the situation remains unchanged. They are calling on local authorities to intervene urgently, warning that the current state of affairs could escalate into a more hazardous or potentially life-threatening situation.

Community members are urging EDSA to stabilize the transformer or replace it entirely to prevent further destruction and ensure public safety.
