Rokel Commercial Bank has announced that all its customers must comply with new identification requirements, in line with directives from the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL), aimed at strengthening the national financial system and improving service delivery.

In a public notice, the bank emphasized that the use of the National Identification Number (NIN) issued by the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) is now mandatory for all individual account holders. New personal accounts will only be opened with a valid NIN, while all business accounts must be registered using a Tax Identification Number (TIN) issued by the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

The directive also applies to corporate customers. Rokel Commercial Bank stated that all signatories, directors, and shareholders of corporate accounts are required to provide their NINs to maintain compliance.

Furthermore, existing customers are urged to update their account information with their NIN on or before 31st December 2025 to avoid potential disruptions in service.

In addition, the bank reminded customers wishing to access or use the National Payment Switch that their NIN must be linked to their bank account by 31st August 2025.

Rokel Commercial Bank encouraged all customers to take the necessary steps without delay. For assistance, customers can contact the bank’s customer service center via telephone at +232 77 222501 / +232 78 222501 or email [email protected].

The bank reassures the public of its continued commitment to providing secure and efficient banking services in compliance with national regulations.
