The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has announced that it will restore water supply to Mile 91 on October 19, 2024, following the completion of critical maintenance work.
This was confirmed by Ing. Osman Pele Bangura, SALWACO’s Station Manager for Mile 91, who disclosed that water will be available from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the scheduled day.
The maintenance involved repairs on a 150mm pipe along the Bo-Freetown highway, a vital link for the region’s water distribution.
The re-engineering efforts, driven by SALWACO’s commitment to improving infrastructure and service delivery, are part of the broader vision set by the company’s Board of Directors and executive leadership, including the Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director.
This restoration project is one of many that SALWACO has initiated across the country, aimed at enhancing access to clean and reliable water in its operational areas.
The company is urging residents to take full advantage of the restored supply and ensure timely payment of water rates, which remain affordable at minimal designated fees.
With the completion of these essential works, SALWACO reaffirms its mission to meet national standards for water provision, addressing the needs of communities and contributing to the country’s sustainable development
